How Bees Be  "I have always used different materials and layered elements to involve the real world within an imaginary world," explains Laura, who made the characters by cutting them out of wood and hand-painting them, and then overlaying with everyday objects, such as bubblewrap and string. "Children enjoy looking at all the details and picking out the materials that they use at school - it makes them think, 'I could do that, I'm going to have a go myself.' I think it makes illustration more accessible."
